Remember that "U2 Tower" idea that was floated almost a decade ago? It's pretty much now officially dead, at least in its original form. The Dublin Docklands Authority has given away the land where the tower would've been built as part of a debt settlement.
The DDDA had been working with U2 and Irish developers to build a massive tower along the Dublin waterfront, and a new recording studio for U2 was planned to be built at the top of the tower. U2 may, or may not, eventually try to build new studios, but it will have to be done as part of some other plan.
