That possible U2 Rock Band/Guitar Hero video game never came to fruition, but U2 will be featured in a new video game coming out later this year. Jay-Z (yes, that Jay-Z) is putting together the soundtrack for NBA 2K13 and, according to Billboard, has included U2's "Elevation" as one of the tracks. The game is due in stores on October 2nd.
Both 2K Sports and Billboard got it a bit wrong in that article when it says that U2 has never been featured in a video game before. "Beautiful Day" was included in a 2007 game called Singstar.
There was talk in 2009 that U2 was interested in doing a Rock Band game, but the music game genre has been declining for years and it's not likely to happen at this point.
