U2 fans have been wishing for years that the band would get more visible and active on social media, and that appears to be happening under the new management of Guy Oseary.
The latest example? U2 now has an official page on Google+. Looking at the content on there now, it looks like the page was created back on December 11th.
Speaking from experience with our own @U2 page on Google+, there's not a huge, mainstream audience there at the moment. (Look at any of our recent news stories and scroll down to compare how often they get shared on Google+ compared to Facebook and Twitter.) But it's quite likely that an official U2 page will do better for the band than a page does for an independent site like ours.
U2 has also gotten much more active on its official SoundCloud page in the past six months, and even debuted its new "Ordinary Love" on Facebook last month. (That Facebook post has since been removed, strangely.)
