U2.com has announced its new 2013 membership package and, for the first time, is offering two packages at different price points.
The standard offer is $$50 (or $$40 if you're renewing membership) and includes an exclusive version of From The Ground Up, the official book of the U2 360 tour. (See our review here.) It also includes Edge's Picks, a new 15-track live CD of songs from the U2 360 tour that were not included on last year's U22 live set. There are also downloads available of live versions of "No Line On The Horizon" and "Spanish Eyes," and language that suggests additional downloads will be available later. And lastly, it includes four bookmarks and four lithographic prints. (There's also 12 months access to the member area on U2.com, of course.)
The "bundle" offer runs $$85 (or $$75 if you're renewing) and includes all of the above, plus last year's U22 release (and the 12 digital downloads that accompanied it) along with the 2006 fanclub release of U2 Zoo TV Live -- the double-CD set ripped from the Zoo TV Live In Sydney video release. The Sydney audio set is obviously being cleared out; the bundle offer says "while supplies last."
No word yet on what's on the 15-track Edge's Picks CD, but U2.com is offering video/audio teasers of "Electrical Storm" and "Get On Your Boots," so expect those to be included.
New orders and renewals can be made now, but we're seeing some posts on Twitter saying that there are some problems with the download links for the two new songs. The link in the email that U2.com is sending out apparently is wrong, but the new downloads are available on your U2.com account page.
