Role Reversal: Edge Sees Gavin Friday Perform in Ireland (Dik Evans, Too)

Bookmark and Share

Edge was on hand Friday night when longtime friend Gavin Friday took the stage at the Electric Picnic festival in Ireland. The Independent called it "the concert of his life," and it sounds like Edge would agree with that assessment:

I haven't seen Gavin perform in many years. Then, suddenly, I realised there is no one else who can perform quite like him. There is only one Gavin Friday and I think Bono might need to take some lessons.

It's something of a role reversal -- Gavin is a frequent attendee (and advisor) when U2 is on tour.

One more thing: Dik Evans, Edge's brother and former member of Feedback and The Hype, was on guitar in Friday's band. GavinFriday.com has a photoset on Flickr from the concert, including one group shot that we think shows Dik third from left (but don't hold us to that).
