U2 fans are optimistic about the prospects for U2's next album to outsell its predecessor. In late August, we posted a new poll question on our home page asking fans to predict if U2's next album would sell more copies than No Line On The Horizon. More than 2,800 fans answered and nearly 70 percent said they think the next album will sell more.
No Line On The Horizon had strong initial sales around the world and ended up being one of the biggest selling albums worldwide in 2009. But it sold very slowly in the U.S., particularly, needing almost a year to sell one million copies. Whether that's a reflection of the album itself or the state of the music industry has been the subject of countless discussions in our forum and elsewhere. What seems clear is that U2's next album won't have an easy time outselling No Line, no matter what the cause was.
We've posted a new poll question that asks fans to tell us how often they hear U2 on the radio. You can answer that question on our home page.
