U2 fans aren't very optimistic that U2 will release a new studio album in 2012. In response to our poll question that ran for about three weeks in January, a little more than one-third of fans who voted said "Yes" or "Probably," while the other two-thirds voted "No" or "Probably not." The latter was the most popular response, getting almost 34 percent of the votes. Almost 3,300 votes were cast over the three weeks.
In October 2011, Edge told Rolling Stone that there's a 50/50 chance U2 will have a new record out in 2012.
