Despite several statements from U2 members that the band is aiming to get its new album out later this year, 25 percent of fans who answered a recent poll question on our home page said they think U2's next album won't be out until 2014 at the earliest.

In the first half of January, we asked fans to indicate when they think the new album will be released. Just a couple days after we posted the question, Larry Mullen made his comments about U2's plan to have the album out around September of this year. No matter ... the "September-October" option only finished third in fan voting, behind "November-December 2013" and "2014 or later." Almost 2,500 votes were cast. Here are the full results:

After the poll question was removed, both Paul McGuinness and The Edge also reiterated U2's aim of having a new album out in 2013.
