The Mexican government has announced plans to honor Bono for his humanitarian work. It'll give Bono the Órden del Águila Azteca (Order of the Aztec Eagle) award sometime this month in New York City.

According to the English translation of this article, the award will recognize "the commitment of Mr. Hewson with humanitarian causes [that] led him to take his public image as a leader of the rock group U2 to boost campaigns for organizations such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Free Burma, The Chernobyl Children's Project, The One Campaign, among others."
