Larry Lands Acting Role in ‘A Thousand Times Good Night’

Thanks to the several readers who sent in alerts and translations of this article in the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that says Larry Mullen Jr. has landed the second acting role of his life. Norwegian director Erik Poppe is currently shooting scenes from A Thousand Times Goodnight in Dublin. Here are some of Poppe's quotes in the article:

I always want to mix in a little surprise. This time it's Larry Mullen Jr. from the band U2. Since I'm filming in Dublin, I just had to ask him to add something fresh and raw to the movie.

This is absolutely outside of Mullen's comfort zone, he tells me, but I love seeing how he gets more confident each day and that it's working. He's brave to do this.

The movie began filming this past Monday, October 22nd and is due for release in Norway in the fall of 2013. The article also says that Larry is splitting his time between the film -- his "day job" -- and his "night job," which is working on U2's next album.

This is Larry's second film role. He previously appeared in last year's film, Man On The Train. (See our review.)
