The Irish Times has a lengthy and very good article looking back at Paul McGuinness' career as U2's manager, and what his departure might mean going forward. It also includes this unofficial and unconfirmed statement about the timing of U2's new album and a tour:
Today, sales of the new U2 album, which is due out in March, no longer really matter much. Sales of tickets for their world tour, which is due to begin in June, really do.
That's a little different from the most recent reports related to a new album. When news hit last week about McGuinness' decision to step aside, Billboard magazine cited sources that said the album would be released in April 2014.
