Already a regular writer for the New York Times, Bono has now taken to The Huffington Post -- a major online news site -- to introduce a new video from the ONE Campaign calling for more aid to fight the ongoing famine in the Horn of Africa.
Bono's first essay introduces the minute-long video, The F Word: Famine is the Real Obscenity, which stars a variety of celebrities (including Arianna Huffington) explaining how f***ing serious the famine is. Bono also appears in the video, which we'll embed here.
Bono's essay/article invites readers to sign a new petition at One.org that encourages governments to fund efforts to fight the famine.
The timing of the "F-word" message is quite smart and probably not coincidental. As it turns out, the US Supreme Court is due to consider another aspect of the television indecency case that stems, at least in part, from Bono using the F-word in 2003 on the Glden Globes television broadcast.
