Bono Reportedly to Join Aung San Suu Kyi on Stage in Dublin

The Irish Independent is reporting that Bono will appear on stage - and may sing -- next month in Dublin during a concert honoring Aung San Suu Kyi. Amnesty International will present Suu Kyi with its Ambassador of Conscience award at the event, slated for June 18th.

U2's relationship with Suu Kyi dates back to 2000, when she and they were both awarded the Freedom of Dublin -- though she was under house arrest and unable to accept the award. U2's "Walk On" was dedicated to her and Bono wore her image on a button during many Elevation Tour shows in 2001. She was a more prominent focus on both of U2's last two tours, and even appeared via video during the 360 tour in 2011 after her release. (Here's her speech from U2's Denver concert last May.)
