News is circulating tonight that Bono will appear next week at a fundraising concert in Ottawa. But don't rush to make travel plans just yet -- we're told the announcement isn't accurate.
The news release, sent out this afternoon, says Bono will appear at A Celebration of World Suicide Prevention Day in Ottawa on September 10th. The release quotes a member of a band called Friends Of Emmet, who says Bono, actor Colin Farrell and director Jim Sheridan will all be at the charity concert.
But a member of U2's PR team tells us that the news release is "not true."
We've also emailed the contacts listed on the news release for more information, but haven't had a reply.
